The work on this 18 km section which goes from Matazem to the entrance to the town of Bamenda is being carried out by the Bun’s company. Despite the security conditions which led to the work being temporarily interrupted, the company reassures about on-time delivery.
As of February 28, 2024, the progress of the work is reflected in several aspects. The rights-of-way are completely cleared over the entire section, the litho-stabilization work covers a length of 14 km, the foundation layers and the gravel bitumen are respectively carried out over 9.5 km/18km and 5km/18 km. Of the 52 hydraulic structures to be built on this section, 45 have been completed and the company is currently working on the completion of 4 structures. To start other road works, the company continues the production of aggregates.
The project also includes the implementation of related road projects, for a length of 23.5 km. The related work has started and 18 km have been cleaned to date. The implementation of the foundation layer was carried out over the last few days, between kilometer point 1+325 and kilometer point 1+700.
