Strengthening the capacities of ferry smugglers

It was on the occasion of a training workshop which began yesterday Wednesday December 13 for the theoretical phase at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Travaux Publics (ENSTP) and for the practical phase on Thursday December 14, 2023 with a descent on the field on the BIFOGO Bac, in the district of Nanga Eboko under the coordination of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Public Works in charge of Roads, Armand Ndjodom.
The objective pursued is to enable the crews operating these ferries to better master practical methods for the proper use of these infrastructures. A workshop which is part of the quest for excellence at MINTP aimed at providing staff in charge of the technical management of the bins with the necessary skills to guarantee proper operation and better maintenance. This involves, among other things, optimizing the performance of the actions carried out and above all improving the implementation of MINTP programs, particularly those concerning the monitoring and management of crossing ferries in Cameroon.

During his opening speech, the Secretary of State underlined the importance of these meetings, indicating that "this seminar aims to allow everyone to meditate on the different frameworks of construction and rehabilitation projects. , installation, implementation of operation and maintenance. It also aims to enable everyone to master the notions of operation, the notions of monitoring, bin management. Ultimately, to have a monitoring tool of the performance of the personnel responsible for managing the bins" mentioned the Secretary of State.
Also, he reminded the experts of the goal of their mission “Your mission as you see it is essential. For some time, numerous dysfunctions in management and maintenance have been noted, causing significant harm to local populations. Dear experts, you have been selected on the basis of your expertise and your experience to lead this training. Training which will take place on the following five themes: reminder of standards, diagnostic and evaluation techniques and tools, monitoring and practical behavior, maintenance, environmental safety, and for you allow you to better understand the lessons that you will receive during this seminar which is accompanied by practical sessions allowing you to better hold on, to better know how the bins will work” he concluded.

As a reminder, this day of December 14, 2023 is devoted to the field trip mainly in the department of Haute Sanaga, district of Nanga-Eboko on the Bac de BIFOGO for the practical phase of this two-day workshop devoted to good practices for the maintenance and optimal operation of crossing bins.
