AFRICAN GAMES: Nigeria and Uganda, the tempting curtain-raiser poster

The African Games men's football tournament begins on March 7, 2024 in Ghana. Nigeria and Uganda, finalists of the last edition, face each other in curtain raiser at the Accra stadium.

All the ingredients are there for the success of the thirteenth edition of the African Games in Ghana. The competition brings together several African countries for various sporting disciplines. It is argued every after 05 years. Accra, the capital of Ghana, is hosting the 2024 edition from March 8 to 24. The duel between Nigeria and Uganda in the football discipline sounds like a revenge. During the U20 Africa Cup of Nations match, the Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Uganda 0 goals to 1.

Uganda, which enters the fray from the start of the competition and faces Nigeria, is expected by everyone. As is customary in international competition, the two coaches accompanied by their captains took part in the pre-match press conference. Facing journalists, Nigerian technician Ladan Bosso said he was counting on the discipline and talent of his foals to win the African competition: “We have prepared a lot for this competition. The players are disciplined and ready for action. We are counting not only on the talent of the players, but also on the support of Nigerians living here in Ghana to encourage and support the boys”.

Following him, midfielder Daniel Bameyi spoke about the team's determination and objectives: "We are delighted to be playing again under the orders of Ladan Bosso our coach."

 

The Ugandan team is ready to face Nigeria


The Ugandan tactician is optimistic. This is the face that Morley Ochama presented to the journalist at the pre-match press conference. Moreover, he emphasizes that: “the Ugandans are ready and impatient to measure themselves against their adversaries. We respect Nigeria as a great African footballing nation, but we do not fear them. A lot has changed since the last time they beat us and we are ready to show them that we have improved.” The captain of the Ugandan team, Ronald Mado, also spoke. He said the team is geared up to show Nigeria that a lot has changed.

As a reminder, the thirteenth edition of the African Games will be played from March 8 to 24 in Accra, Ghana. It brings together several African countries in various sporting disciplines including football with the men's tournament which begins with an attractive Nigeria – Uganda poster.
